Arne Olav’s animal hybrids completely disobey the laws of nature and realistically depict uncanny animal mashups. Olav uses photoshop to combine two ordinary animals into an extraordinary creature. His duck horse, for instance, is a horse with the head of a duck running through a beautiful field. Olav’s photoshop skills are so masterful that the image looks hyperrealistic as if duck horses were truly an existing specimen.
Another spooky Olav animal hybrid is the penguin whale. A mashup of a killer whale and a penguin, this animal appears to be yelling into the sky with the mouth of a whale but the body of a penguin.
Olav’s animal hybrid photography is uncanny which evokes uneasiness in the viewer as they cannot classify the creatures they’re looking at.
